15Malaysia

15Malaysia is a short film project. It consists of 15 short films made by 15 Malaysian filmmakers. These films not only deal with socio-political issues in Malaysia, they also feature some of the best-known faces in the country, including actors, musicians and top political leaders. You may think of them as funky little films made by 15 Malaysian voices for the people of Malaysia.

Each short film are realised every 2 days. Here are some of the clips.

POTONG SAGA
A laugh-out-loud film about a Chinese boy’s misguided attempts at opening an Islamic bank account.

HOUSE
An Indian boy is asked to build a model of his house at school. A tale on the social economic plight faced by many Malaysians.

THE SON
A teenage Chinese witness to a racially motivated assault is being driven to the police station. A quiet reminder of the dangers of inter-communal suspicion and conflict.

HALAL
A very silly slapstick comedy demonstrating the proper Islamic way to slaughter chicken.

CHOCOLATE
A quiet tale that reminds us that, despite the multifaceted contradiction of Malaysia, life goes on – even if not all of it is sweet.

Day 2 @ Home Sweet Home

Been watching tv almost whole day except when I was sleeping at night. Hahahaha.. mom's fav past time is watching her taiwanese hokkien series from the"happy channel" on Astro that brother subscribed for her, and only her. So you can imagine how good my taiwanese hokkien gets after being home for a week, given that I pick up dialects and languages quite fast. haha... they sound really funny as the hokkien sounds like an exact translation from mandarin.

I prefer to watch cooking show though. My favs are Sugar by Anna Olson, Martha Stewart, Michael Smith, Nigella Lawson... these are my alltime fav chefs, cooks, whatever you call them, but to me, they are just angels with good food to share.

Another fav past time is to play with little Rou Ching aka Rachel (hubby gave her that name since her chinese name rhymes with "Rachel". She is a 2 year-old girl whose parents live nearby and mom baby sits her in the day time when her parents go to work. She is very cute. Very talkative, busybody and a copycat. She repeat what you say and she does her baby talks all the time. Of cos we do not know what she is talking about but she seems to be happily yacking away as if she understood what she mumbles. She also loves to follow us whenever we go. She will carry her little chair or stool, follow us and when we are busy, she will park her chair (or sometimes stool) beside where we stand and continue yacking away. Even as I m typing this blog... she is touching my face and calling me "auntie" or "mama".. and yack yack yack... hahaha.. she damn cute lor.. cannot tahan.. i can't help but kiss her all the time. She has really nice curly hair. Love that curls.
Okie.. I m off playing with "Rachel" again...till then... adios...
Oh Oh.. btw.. mom is cooking my fav dishes again today... keep a lookout for the pics tomorrow. :o)

Home Sweet Home

Yes, I am now back home in Penang... or to be exact, Kulim. The reason why I always say Penang cos if I were to say Kulim, people will start asking me where the hell is Kulim. Actually I was from Butterworth, where I grew up for 19 years before I came to the beautiful island called Singapore (my family moved to Kulim 13 years ago). Been here since then and Singapore has been more than home to me. I have all my friends here. Home in Kulim is where both mom and brother resides. 2nd home. Still home to me too. When I said I miss home, I meant more to I miss mom and brother. Hahaha....Sounds rather ironical when I fight with them most of the time... used to.. but now hardly... we are much much better now. When we see how other siblings fight, we find them really silly cos no matter what, we are siblings after all. One can choose a career, husband or wife, friends.. but one can't choose parents and siblings. Its GOD given and HE must have HIS reason for HIS choice. We just have to accept that fact and learn to live with each other. Harmony doesn't come easy but one has towork hard for it... and the results...Peaceful home and Happy live. Its worth the hard work. Life was never perfect to start with and will not stay perfect anyway....

Weather is very HOT here.... I am getting migraine, headache, pain in the ear, ulcers in my throat and tongue, OUCH!!! I always fall sick when I am home. Too heaty I guess. So funny... I was helping mom to fold the joss paper for seven month ghost festival's prayer.. I thought I saw blood on my thumb. Oh No... nose bleed? I got panic cos I am afraid of blood!!!! Then I started calling out for mom and she was asking me what happen. She thought I was bleeding too... I told her to check my nose cos the last thing I touched was my nose. I was rubbing it earlier. Nope... nothing... then I realised.. it was from the color of the joss paper. As the top layer of the paper was red in color and earlier my thumb got wet as I was drinking water from a mug that was still wet earlier. Damn... but thank GOD.. it wasn't nose bleed. I would FAINT... yes.. serious.. I would have fainted if it really was my nose that bleeds. Hahahaha.. such a hopeless girl. All thanks to "Y-D"...cos when I was having lunch with him yesterday, he mentioned about how he gets nose bleed easily due to heatiness. I thought that only happens in the movie. But it really happen to people. Ouch... I know its not painful for him.. but the thought of blood dripping out from the nose... is enough to make my hairs stand... Eeeeekkkk... YES... I get freaked out from dripping blood... Aikkkkss...

Mom is cooking my fav dish now. Yeah.. its still early to cook dinner.. but this is my mom. She usually starts cooking dinner at 4pm. She is improving now though. Its already 5pm. Hahaha... LOL...here are some mouth watering pics of my fav dish.

Now... I can't wait for my brother to come back from work and we can enjoy this long awaited dinner as a family. Yum Yum Yummilicious.....!!!

What Tiger Airways?

I am in a super duper foul mood today. Why? All down to Tiger Airways. Why? Cos they sucks big time. Communications sucks! Service sucks! Systems sucks! Meaning everything sucks!

I booked my ticket to Penang about 3 months ago. How the hell would I know whats the weight of luggage I will be bringing back with me 3 months later? So I did not purchase the luggage allowance online when I booked my tickets (as its cheaper to purchase this in advance, unfortunately!!)

Now, as the travelling date is getting close, I called the call centre to purchase the luggage allowance few days ago, but I ain't sure if the staff are "not working", or just plain DEAF!! No one seems to attend to calls and I have been put on hold to listen to their so-called "music on hold"... !!! YES.. for hours... Arghhh.. this really pissed me off big time as there are no other ways I can get thru to them. NO, they do not have an email that I can send in for HELP. Seriously, how do this airline get to where they are now? OMG!!! And SERIOUSLY... I m not gonna travel with this stupid airline anymore!!!! DAMN!!!

Hida, my colleague, went to googled online for "How to contact Tiger Airways".. and the results came out to be SUPER NEGATIVE!!! I realised, I am not the only one who hates that airline... everyone knows this airline just doesn't have a proper level of communication. OMG OMG OMG!!! This is a Singapore operated airline.. how can that be? Seriously... I don't know...

Anyway, I just can't be bothered anymore. I will just freaking pay the allowance upon check in, even though its double the price. But its just not worth getting my blood boiled over this stupid airline.

Twilight

Late last night, Simone & myself finally took the time to watch Twilight. OMG... after the show, both of us were so in love with the lead actor Edward Cullen (Robert Pattison). Infact, when the movie was released late last year, my friend Flora had been urging me to watch that show and I was rather amazed at how crazy she was with the whole thing and I even thought she over reacted. She even went to buy all the series of the novels and finished reading them. I thought she was mad. Now... after watching the movie last night, I know how she felt then. When I went to work today, whole day I was goo-goo-ga-ga over the movie and my colleague irritably commented "Eh... you damn slow leh... now then you realised the show is good and start talking about it now when everyone started long time ago and have gotten over it by now"... guess I am really slow..Haha.. but... slow is still better than never...

Infact, when the movie just started for the first 15 mins, I kept giving commenting about how ordinary Bella looked and "chey... Edward is just so-so lor..." don't know why everyone went crazy over him.. well well..half way thru the show, I started to understand why... its not so much about how good looking he was in the show, but its the character that he played so well. Edward is the type of man any woman will go mad about. Passionate, HOT, caring, loving, protective etc.. He appears when you least expected him to be and he is always there when you are in danger, to protect you. He is tall and lean and his eyes, oooooh.. killer look. He is charming... and he loves watching you to sleep. How about that? Isn't he almost perfect? Yes, of cos we all know, this kinda man, only exist in the movie. But its harmless to have wishful thought (though its almost impossible to find one on this planet called Earth. May be Mars??? )... haha...

We never took notice of James (Cam Gigandet) who died at the end of the show. He looked rather scary with his long hair vampired look. But when I googled him this morning, saw his short hair pics. OMG... now, Robert Pattison has to stand aside. This chap (Cam) has an even Killer look!! He has just turned 27 and is a father to a 5 months old baby now. Here are some shots of him with his "chick". A man looks even more charming with a baby in his arm.

Cheesecake Brownies

Here it is... juz arrived... fresh from the new invention by Lanny's secret recipe. The previous Brownies with Oreo Cheesecake wasn't so much of a success (though others may find it nice, but to me, its not up to perfection...too much space for improvement... till this one arrived)

Gave some to "Y-D" (and his kids), Boo Boo and Sexy and they love it. BooBoo commented this is the "best cake" he had ever tasted. Am glad that this came out a success. Even myself, I am very pleased with this new creation. Thank GOD for this new idea of combination. Been cracking my head of how to improve the last recipe I did 2 weeks ago. So long as I do not have the "improved" version, I will not sleep in peace. Guess tonight I can sleep well. :o)

Sunny Sunday 16.08.09

Listening to Kris Dayanti's songs...

Went to TTSH to visit grandma as she was admitted on Thurs. Then we went to Square 2 for late lunch and went for coffee with Aunt Stella. She just got back from Taiwan late last night. She was very lucky to have escaped the typhoon which struck Taiwan lately. Thank GOD that she came back safely.

I have been looking for a pair of shoes for work for the past months. I m not a shoe person and I will not spend lots of money on them as they usually do not last for more than 4 months, at the rate and how I take care of them. I am a bad bad care taker for shoes. To start with, I am a BIG foot girl and seriously, its damn hard to find a pair of shoe that fit me. They can be size 9 or 10 in length, but broadness at the front just doesn't fit at all. So only certain brand like Heatwave might have them, though only few designs. The one I am currently wearing is gonna give way soon. Not sure when but I do not want to wait till something happen then it will be even harder to find a pair. So usually before it fails me, I will start hunting for one. Last week I went to Lucky Plaza hoping to find one as the one in Far East Plaza is a very small shop and can't find any pair that fits me. But unfortunately, the shop in Lucky Plaza was closed down for more than a year!! Wuahaha.. so funny.. no wonder I went round and round the whole basement 1 and still can't seems to find that shop. Anyway, we happened to walk pass Heatwave in Square 2 unexpectedly and finally found this pair. Okie la.. though not that fantastic but at least my feet can get into it. Hahaha.. consider lucky.

Then, we went to Iluma again. On Monday, I bought a dress at Nichii and wore it on Friday. When I came home, hubby told me the back was torn at the seams. Damn.. now I wonder when it was torn and did anyone sees me in a torn dress? Initially my intention was to have a one to one exchange, and if they refuse, I am willing to have them rectify the problem and get it sewn back. I don't care but I am not gonna pay f0r a dress to be worn for once and threw it away or leave it aside (which is as good as throwing it away). But end up they gave me an option, whether to change for a new piece of the same dress or another dress for the same price? Of cos I would choose the latter... What if the new piece of the same dress have the same problem? It would be a waste of time to go for another exchange, which I doubt there will be a 2nd exchange allowed. So I tried another dress and since the price of the dress is lower than the original, I managed to grab an accessories which worked out to almost the same amount of the 1st dress. Came home a happy girl with another new dress. :D
