More Than Blue - The Continuation

OMG... I didn't know that this movie has a continuation in an MV. Edward found it on youtube and forwarded the link to hubby, who then forward it to me knowing how crazy I get with the ending. I still can't get over the sadness (may be that explain why I've been getting headache or could be migraine for the past few days). I can't watch the MV with sound in the office, so my initial plan was to go home and watch with full blast of my speaker at home. But last night, hub hub was asking if I have watched it, but somehow, I just refused to watch the MV knowing the sadness is gonna start all over again. Yes, I can get very emotional with such movies, thats why I hate to watch movies with sad ending. I prefer watching comedy (but not slap stick comedy though), action pack with lots of martial art actions (yes, I love martial art, kung fu etc. I was from Tae Kwon-do for 5 years when I was in secondary school). Not so much of lovey dovey stuff... too drama mama and so not true. Such lovey lovey act hardly exist in real life and people tends to compare their partners with such characters in the movie. Not practical though...

Nevertheless, enjoy the clip here (for those of you who doesn't get broken heart so easily.. ) LOL

More Than Blue

Was watching this Korean movie last night. Its called More Than Blue. If I were to know it was such a sad sad movie, I would not watch it. The sadness still lingers in my heart even when I woke up today. Still sad.

The story is about this guy, K, who was abandoned by his mom when he was 13 years old. His dad passed away a year before, due to cancer. Cream, is a girl who lost her family in a car accident. These two people continue their lives filling in each other's longings like family, friends and lovers. But K has less than 200 days to live due to cancer too. (It seems to me that in all Korean drama or movies, the lead actor or actress tends to die of an illness, be it heart problem, cancer or leukemia.) When he's gone, he knows she'll be all alone. K decides to find someone who can be with her for the rest of her life. Joo-Hwan is a dentist, a kind and gentle soul. But most importantly, he is a healthy human being. Joo-Hwan falls in love with her the moment he sees her... but Joo-Hwan is engaged. His fiancee, Jenna, who is a photographer, sleeps around and some how, K managed to get some pics to prove that she has been unfaithful to Joo-Hwan, hence asking her to break off their engagement so that Cream can be with Joo-Hwan. Jenna refused to initially, but she agreed to do so with a condition, that K allows her to take his photos. (Not sure why she wants to do that)... may be she finds it interesting to take pics of a person who is dying and trying to find a life partner for the woman he loves.

Well, Jenna didn't keep her promised and K had no choice but to reveal those pics to Joo-Hwan and the engagement was called off. It was heart breaking to watch the part when K chose the wedding gown for Cream and he was crying his heart out knowing he won't be the one marrying this woman that he loves all his life.

But the last part of the show, time went back to the part of seeing things from Cream's side. She actually knew what he was going thru and trying to do and as K didn't want her to know he was ill, she kept along the secret with her and played along with his wishes. But the sad part was that at the end, after he passed away, she couldn't bear to live her life without him, she killed herself to be with him, and the stories ended so sadly. I just can't seems to find the right words to use to describe the ending ( too emotional for me... )... but I guess this kinda love only exist in the movie.. in the wonderland... who would do such act in the name of Love.. ????
Anyway, enjoy the OST attached here. The OST is very nice. Don't forget to On your Speaker.

Happening dinner at Jac's on Thursday Night 03.09.09

Went to Jac's place for dinner. She loves cooking too, and she always cook really nice and healthy food and will invite her friends over to her cosy home , which is located at the heart of town.

Jac, is one of my BFF. She will always try to be there when I need her, even if I can't have her physically by my side, but her ears are almost reachable thru phone, except when she is travelling on flight, or when she is in overseas, due to time difference, I will try not to call her even when I really need her listening ears. But knowing I have a friend like her, its just warmth to just think of it. Thanks Jac, for being such a wonderful friend.

Now, Jac, Jennifer and Prof. Kum are the few close ones when I was working in SLS. Jac is a dietitian, Jennifer a nurse, and Prof.Kum, a general surgeon. Jennifer is one bloody funny gal, we can joke about almost anything, as disgusting as SHIT... and only us (including Jac), can laugh over SHIT jokes. Yes, I really meant Shit as of SHIT!!! LOL... Prof.Kum, not sure how to describe him, and since he doesn't read my blog, I can just whack anyhow!!! LOL... well, he can be very funny and for those who doesn't know him well, he may sound rather sarcastic (unintentionally). But only those who knows him well, will know he is not such a person.

So, that night, we had lots of FUN, FUN & more FUN!!! It was good dinner with good food and good company. Everyone brought their partners along. And we were so looking forward to meet Prof.Kum's new gf, Clara. Woohooo.. she is one cool babe... as we are a bunch of loud people, yes, we are really LOUD (and I 've always wonder if Jac's neighbour have ever complain about the noise level we created whenenver we are at her place?)... but not only did Clara found herself in a group of loud people, but she blended in the loudness too and immediately we love her already. She is very spontaneous, cheeky and fun. Just like the rest of us. LOL..

After dinner, we played card game called Taboo and we had so much fun that I almost lost my voice the next day. We were too excited and laughed so loud!!!! I am not gonna describe further into details how Clara uses Prof.Kum during her description of words, but some can be rather RA. Hahahaha... we laughed till we had really bad stomach cramps. OMG!!!!

Anyway, so much of the fun, I am already looking forward to our next gathering. Hopefully soon. Till then, Thanks Jac!!!

Sunny Saturday 05.09.09

Usually Saturdays (and Sundays) are the days when I really pigged out at home and do just nothing. It can be watching tv whole day (or Hong Kong TVB series).. or just sitting in front of my PC and downloading songs, blogging, playing games online, surfing for new ideas etc... makes my weekend a happy one.

But this weekend is different from the usual weekends. I woke up at 12pm and quickly got ready to head down to Vivocity to meet Mun Poh, an ex-classmate who now lives in London and her hubby. I hate to go town or shopping malls on weekend as I hate crowds. I get really impatient when it comes to crowded weekend. I try to be more patient but I just can't help it. The crowds just somehow drives me nuts. LOL
We went to this Japanese fast food place, (can't remember whats the name of the place though I went there twice, once last year)..and I ate the same food.. Japanese curry with rice covered with a thin layer of egg. Nice... here is a glimpse of it before they were gone.

This is Mun Poh, who is now Mun Arthur. I won't wanna go any further of her stories in Spore. Anyway, I ain't sure when will I see her again. I used to visit her quite often when I was still flying and London being my fav destination, I did 2 to 3 flights to London every month. Yeah, we are of the same age.

Monday 31.08.09

Its Malaysia's National Day or Merdeka. But not so national after all... nah.. I ain't patriotic at all. Not my forte.

But as its a public holiday, we get to enjoy each other's company again before I fly off that night. We went to this beach call Pantai Bersih (translated as Clean Beach)... but it ain't clean at all. Hahaha.. it was never clean to start with and it seems to have gotten worse along the years. I have not been there for more than 10 years and didn't know that people have actually set up coffee shops and sell seafood.

We went to one for lunch and these were what we had.

Hot plate toufu

Stir fried kangkung (non spicy) and fried "long-lived" noodles

Steamed flower crab with eggs

Steamed fish (don't ask me what fish as I hardly know types of fishes... so long as they are fresh and doesn't taste fishy... I eat them all... LOL)

Stir fried flower crab with bean paste

A view of the beach... this cemented foyer was never there when we were kids and when the beach was still a place for the Butterworth-ians.

I miss the char koey teow from my secondary school. But as it was a holiday, the canteen was closed. But we were just around the corner so brother drove us there, just trying our luck to see if we can enter the school and just for memory sake.. paying a visit.. not to the teachers but to the school. LOL... we can't enter as there was a guard there. Not wanting to be accused for trespassing, we decided to leave.

Here are some pics of my fav baby... little Rou Ching...

Love her curly hair....

Cloudy Sunday 30.08.09

At 7:15am, mom woke us up for an early jog. Damn.. thats so damn early lor. But not wanting to disappoint her, (as we can see all she wanted was for us to spend the morning with her). Hence, we had no choice but to get our lazy butt out of bed and start washing up, changed into our running gear and drove to Mengkuang Dam for a jog. But it was a good time spent there. With fresh morning breeze, what more can we ask for. But as I have never run in such an early morning, I had problem getting my sleepy feet to run. My body kept telling my legs, Run Run Run... but they just didn't seems to have woken up yet. Still sleeping and can't move as fast as I usually did in my evening run. Damn.. never mind. I walked instead. Still, I was breathing in some fresh air. Can't complain further. I didn't had my mobile with me, hence no pics of the dam.

On our way home, we had wanton mee for breakfast but wasn't fanfastic though. Tasted so so but still, better than the one sold here, if you don't want chili, they splash ketchup into the bowl. Damn, taste weird. But I do know of a place in Spore that serves really good wanton mee, where I previously lived. Its located at a coffee shop along Serangoon North Ave 4, opposite Rosyth Primary School. They have the best wanton mee in Spore so far, to my taste. Individual taste bud. But I am happy with this one.

In the late morning, we went to buy my late father's fav (and mine too!) Bak Kut Teh. Bought some to pay respect to him. After which we went back to the coffee shop to enjoy my share of Bak Kut Teh. Damn nice... too nice that I just wallop everything before I could think of taking any pic of it. Hahahaha... (may be next time :D)

On our way home, it was pouring heavily. You can see from the pics below, really dark clouds.

We dropped by a clinic to buy some cream for my eczema, but the clinic would not open till 2:30pm and we arrived at 2pm (we thought they re-open after lunch at 2pm). As it was raining very heavily, brother decided to just wait outside the clinic instead of getting into the car again as he doesn't want the car to get wet when he opens the door. He used the table next door (from a coffee shop which only opens at night), flip it side way and use it to cover him from the rain. Haha... (see below)...... pls pardon me as my mobile 's camera was not able to focus.
Eventually we didn't get to buy the cream as according to the nurse, we have to wait till 3pm as the doc's signature is required to purchase the cream. Damn... we didn't wanna wait no more. So we left and went home to help mom with some spring cleaning of the house. But brother was furious with the cream issue, and drove there again after that. Took him 30 mins to drive there and another 30 mins to come back . Poor him. After all his efforts, the cream better works on me, or else... hmmmm....!!!!
For dinner, we went to Chai Leng Park's hawker centre, where you can find all the almost good food there. :D
I was hunting high and low for my Penang char koey teow as I have not had one yet since I came back on Tues night. Its a must have whenever I come back home. Unfortunately, both stalls were not there, might be due to the heavy rain, they deciced to stay home. Hahhaa... But I settled for a stall that sells economic fried bee hoon, noodles and koay teow. Just so happened when I walked past the stall, I saw an old man just finished frying a big "bunch" of koay teow, so I asked him if he could fry just a plate for me, which all he did was to add an egg to it. No prawn No cockles. Sigh... when you are in a desperate mode, in hokkien, we say "No fish, prawns also can lar".. LOL.. Not bad though.
And my fav "yin yong"... its a mixture of fried bee hoon and hor fun with egg. Wooohooo... Yum Yum...

So much good food.. but so little time to enjoy them. I am missing my "you tiao" and "butterfly" from Raja Uda. :o(
